The Vaughan Family: An at-home family & newborn session in Roanoke, Virginia

There's something about doing a session in your own home that just feels so right. It's more than a location — more than a field or park or a stunning overlook. Home is everything. It's where your life happens. Moments big and small. Tears and endless laughter. Slow, quiet mornings and loud family gatherings. It's not perfect, but it's all yours.

I'm honored to have captured this time for the Vaughan family, in the comfort of their home. With three kids, including their sweet new baby boy, I can only imagine how crazy life must feel some days. But taking time to slow down and document a chapter of your life is incredibly meaningful, and I'm so happy they recognized that.

Years from now, I hope these photos remind them of all the little things — what it felt like to hold their son, so little back then, to be curled up on Mom and Dad's lap or to be a kid with a sister as a best friend.
