THAT one PHOTO PODCAST: COMING SOON!

Call for story submissions

What's your one photo? Everyone has one.

The photo that's lived in your wallet for years.

The one that always makes you laugh.

The one you could stare at forever, even if it hurts.

The one that reminds you who you are or where you came from.

If there's a photo you can't imagine your life without, I'd love to hear about it.

That One Photo is a podcast-form project about the photographs that become part of our lives — not because they're perfect, but because of what they mean.

Each episode begins with a single image and unfolds into a story about family, love, grief, joy, identity, friendship, adventure, or the ordinary moments that quietly become extraordinary with time.

About the photo

Your photo doesn't have to be ...

  • professionally taken

  • historically significant

  • perfectly composed

  • emotional enough

  • technically perfect

Sometimes it's a Polaroid. Sometimes it's from a disposable camera. Sometimes it's an iPhone photo. Sometimes it's faded, torn, or blurry.

The only thing that matters is this:

When someone asks, "Why this photo?" you have a story to tell.

What kinds of stories am I looking for?

I'd love to hear about ...

  • the last picture of someone you love

  • the first photo where you finally felt like yourself

  • the picture that became your family's inside joke

  • the image that survived a fire or flood

  • a snapshot from an ordinary Tuesday that means everything now

  • the one that changed how you see your family

  • the photo you return to whenever life gets hard

If you're wondering

Do I need to be a photographer?
Not at all! The beauty of this project is that everyone has a story to tell.

Do I have to share the photo publicly?

No. You're welcome to submit your story first, and we can talk through whether you're comfortable sharing the image.

Will every submission become an episode?

Unfortunately, no, but I truly read every story, and I'm so grateful for each one. If it doesn't become an episode, perhaps it could still be featured on social media.

What if my story isn't the right fit?

Please send it anyway! Some of the most meaningful stories are the ones people almost didn't share because they thought they were "too ordinary." Ordinary moments have a way of becoming extraordinary with time, and those are just the ones I'm hoping to discover and preserve.

I believe photographs are some of the smallest things we leave behind, yet they often carry the biggest stories. Thank you for trusting me with yours.
