A first birthday session at sunset | Charlottesville Family Photographer

My sixth session with the H family was a lovely spring evening marking their son's first birthday. Springtime sessions always come with a chance of rain, but thankfully the evening was drenched only in beautiful, glowy light.

Their family session took place in April on their land (aka, a little slice of paradise). They love adding film photos to their gallery, which, of course, I love too!

The evening was the perfect backdrop for slowing down and celebrating their first year as a family of four. For laughing, playing, cloud-gazing, and showing off beloved 1-year-old party tricks (like kicking off shoes and taking off Dad's glasses). For living in the moment.
