I took another leap last year and decided to submit a collection of images to The Kindred Path, a photographic journal celebrating the art and joy of family.
When I found out that I had not one, but three images chosen for the winter edition, I couldn't have been more honored and excited!
The first image is from an October sunrise session with a family I've worked with for the past few years now. It's always so fun when repeat clients (that I hold so dear) can celebrate an achievement like this with me. Their little boy is always a bit camera-shy at the beginning of our sessions, but Dad can always find a way to bring out his silly side.
The second image is from an at-home family session with the Sink family back in September. The first time I worked with them, their oldest had just turned one. It was so special to reconnect, meet their second daughter, and capture sweet memories inside their home. We had almost walked downstairs to take some photos outside, when I noticed this window with beautiful sheer curtains. I couldn't resist creating some portraits here. So happy I did!
The third image is from an at-home newborn session last October. Dad had to leave a bit early, so I had lots of quality time with Mom and baby. I love the look of pure happiness on mom's face as she soothes her baby boy. This image was created on Portra 400 film, which I have processed and scanned here in Charlottesville at Pro Camera.
Thank you so much, Kindred Path, for your labor of love and for giving so many artists a space to shine!
