A spring newborn session at home | Charlottesville Newborn Photographer

It's not often that I can say I've known a "client" for over 20 years, but I absolutely can in this case! This beautiful mama has been one of my best friends since the days of lockers, gym uniforms, sleepover shenanigans, and Friday nights at the mall.

The joy it brought me to photograph her and her new little family was huge! Our at-home newborn session in April was one of those wonderfully surreal moments that reminded me why I love doing what I do. Not to mention, it's always the biggest honor when friends support your work and art!

Like most sessions with a first baby, this one felt so peaceful — more like a hangout where I just so happen to be taking photos while chatting with mom and dad.

I think you can feel that sense of peace in their images, as well as the pure joy that can only come from soaking in a baby you've waited so long to meet.
